The Very Talented Bramley Court.
The show goes on at Bramley with a busy events schedule
All in all, it’s been a very busy few weeks. As well making sure everything is in place for our Making a difference challenge, we hosted our autumn Cocktail Party. Elvis hosted the evening, but he wasn’t the only one who entertained us. For the first time ever, we held a talent show. This was judged by Cllr Pene Nudds, one of our Parish Councillors and Gail Webb. Our acts were all very good and we didn’t envy our judges the difficult task of picking the best. The acts consisted of Phil’s dramatic recital of Jabberwocky (Lewis Carrol), Vernon singing ‘My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean;’ John singing ‘It Doesn’t Matter Anymore’ originally by Buddy Holly, Mario playing the piano and Rosemary singing Gallway Bay. The winners were John and Vernon (for more pictures of the event, visit our facebook page). We all had a wonderful time, swapping our favourite tea and cake for cocktails and canapes. The next Cocktail Evening is in March, when we will be enjoying our newly remodelled home.
Our annual Conker Championships are planned for Thursday 27th October. Will John retain his title or will he be passing it on? Our annual Halloween party is on Monday 31st October, get your costumes ready and join us for some seasonal fun. Keep an eye out for this year’s Christmas Challenge and for information on our newest venture that will take us ‘Back to Nature’.

Things are moving very quickly now with our remodelling as we are constantly serenaded by the sound of drills. The two bathroom conversions are all but finished, needing just a few finishing touches and the back extension roof is now tiled. The hoarding in the Cherry lounge will be put in place this week, allowing the construction team to make the necessary adjustments to connect the inside to the outside. The walls in the new reception area are going up in the new admin area too. We have relocated the manager’s office to Room One, allowing for storage and WC facilities. We are all very excited with how things are progressing.
We have received some very positive feedback from both residents and relatives meetings about the work and conduct of the builders. There are a number of feedback forms available at present available from Danielle, Juliette or Mugove. If you are a professional, relative or resident visiting or staying at Bramley, please take a minute to fill in one of the forms . There is a pre-paid envelope with the forms for your convenience.
