Health and Wellbeing
We are passionate about enabling residents to live their very best lives, filled with love and happiness. Our residents’ ongoing health and wellbeing is extremely important to us and through our unique exercise programme, we support residents to keep active and well for as long as possible.
THE ‘ALL TOGETHER BETTER PROGRAMME’
At Bramley Court we provide all residents with a personalised programme of movement and exercise focused on improving their overall health and wellbeing.
Bramley’s exercise champion Steph together with our wider team and own exercise trainer Jane, who works exclusively with us, run a range of daily exercises classes to suit each residents’ needs and preferences.
All sessions are tailored to the needs of older people and, over time, can have impressive results.
PERSONALISED ACTIVITY PROGRAMMES
When a resident joins the programme, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of their mobility levels led by specialists in rehabilitation for older people. The outcome of which is a personalised exercise programme, combining group classes and individual support, which could include walking Pip our home dog or doing a spot of gardening, facilitated by our skilled exercise champion and fitness instructor.
We believe movement and mobility are an integral part of promoting independence and wellbeing for our residents and take a ‘whole home’ approach to the organised sessions as well as the everyday exercises. All members of our loving and caring team are always on hand to provide encouragement and support.
The programme is offered to all those in our care, so residents are able to make new friends, which increases feelings of wellbeing and confidence. Bramley residents also have a membership to a local health club, where they can use all the facilities including the swimming pool, adding another dimension to their wellbeing programme.
Exercise champion Steph comments: “Since joining the wellbeing team three years ago, I’ve taken a keen interest in how, through careful exercise, the body can rehabilitate itself. I really enjoy my role and it feels so rewarding to help make a difference and contribute to the wellbeing of our residents’ lives. I am a true believer in positive thinking and have seen that when it’s combined with determination it can have exceptional results!”
