Meet our home manager,
Lisa Houghton

Lisa Houghton joined the Bramley family as Home Manager in 2017. As a registered nurse she brought with her a wealth of experience and understanding of residential and dementia care.

Lisa first trained as a nurse over 30 years ago and began her career at Papworth Hospital, where she met her husband, Mark. They married two years later and went on to have two children.

Throughout her career Lisa has worked in Community Nursing, which she adored, then Oncology and Research Nursing before going on to work as a Practice Sister in a local GP surgery. In her first job as Deputy Manager, Lisa successfully made the home fully compliant within just two months, after which she moved to a new role in St Ives, where she quickly progressed to Home Manager.

Explaining the ethos behind her dedicated care work, Lisa says: “Our residents will always come first in everything we do at Bramley Court, from enabling them to have the best quality of life to being a support for their families. I believe passionately in treating everyone as an individual – be it residents, families, or team members – and I’ve always worked with an open-door policy to ensure and maintain excellence in care and standards.”

At Bramley Court, Lisa’s focus is on the resident’s independence and “that life is still very much for living!” She employs like-minded individuals with the same passion and enthusiasm for care as herself which has resulted in Bramley becoming a Care Quality Commission rated Outstanding care home.

Lisa says: “I love my role as home manager because I have the ability to enhance our resident’s quality of life every single day, enabling them to end their life’s journey in a home where they are loved.

When she is not at her home-away-from-home, Bramley Court, Lisa’s other passions are horses and travelling, though she has yet to combine the two!

Our home manager, Lisa is here to help you and your family.
